Outlook Today is a nifty little feature in Outlook email client that works as a home page when you open Outlook. It will show you all the events from calendar for the day, new emails from your selected folder, tasks, and a few more things.
What is Outlook Today?
When you click on the email account associated with the profile, you can see the Outlook Today on the right.

You can also customize Outlook to always open with Outlook Today when starting Outlook. To do so: First click on the email address on the left folder pane associated with your account, then click on “Customize Outlook Today” button on the right. It will show up all the settings associated with Outlook today.

Check the box that says “When starting, go directly to Outlook today” to make it the “home” screen when opening Outlook.
Here, you can also customize what you want to see in Outlook today.
- Click on “Choose Folders” to select from the folders in the added email accounts that will show up.
- You can also customize how many days should be included in the calendar for Outlook Today
- Tasks: Customize how you want the tasks to be shown. Either all the tasks or tasks just for today. Select how you want the tasks to be sorted
- You can also choose the style for Outlook Today, from: Standard, Standard (two columns), Standard (one column), Summer, and Winter. With each style, the colors, background, and the way columns are arranged will differ.
For Outlook 2007 users, they can find the Outlook Today from the navigation pane. Then either click on “Mailbox- Your Name” if you are using Exchange or “Name of the .PST file” if you are using a personal folder file mailbox.
