Postbox features lists and much more…
In one of our articles about email clients, we learned that an email client is a program that connects with your email servers and download all your data to computer for you to access them. Using IMAP or POP protocols, it can get your emails efficiently, and even sync the changes you made on client to the servers so you get consistent data everywhere regardless of where you are signing in.
One such email client has earned quite a reputation for itself in recent years – Postbox (https://www.postbox-inc.com/).
Postbox Mail Client
It’s an affordable email client that is now available for both Mac and Windows.
But before Postbox established itself, it had huge challenges. One of the biggest ones was to compete with other commercial clients Outlook, or the pre-installed client in Mac computers simply called ‘Mail’ now, or Thunderbird (a Free email client from Mozilla foundation).
Now, looking back it seems evident that Postbox had some truly unique features up its sleeve that stood the test of time. It has a large user-base now, and for a good reason.
Let’s take a quick look at some of its best features: –
The thing about Postbox that quickly jumps out is its interface. It is simply unmatched with any other client out there. This is due to the remarkable simplicity with which it lets the users deal with emails and its sophisticated features. It is also easy on eyes, with sharp borders, neat and clean interface, and yet not limited in any sense.
Postbox introduced ‘Focused Pane’ to let users deal with only important emails. Hence, it is aptly named. It lets you focus on emails according to the priority of them. This is made possible by smart, real-time filters of Postbox. It makes it already clean interface even more attractive, and more important, more productive. Although, some users may find it limiting because it hides some of the emails that you might want to see. But in general, it works out great for majority.
One of the most helpful features it introduced before many other clients is tagging emails. There are features like applying labels to emails, but with Postbox, it’s different. You can tag an email with as many keywords as you like. This makes the management surprisingly easier. You can make your searches highly refined using the tags and without letting it consume your time.
Every software program has some shortcuts to launch an event/command/feature instantaneously using keys on your keyboard. But that’s not the kind of shortcuts we are talking about here. Postbox has made a lot of lengthy tasks shorter, almost down to a single click. Therefore, most of its features can technically be said to exist in other clients, but the difference is in user-friendliness and comfort in applying those features intuitively. Example – Tagging (above). Searching emails and managing them under different labels is a feature seen in every email client, but Postbox has made it incredibly simple and quick through ‘Tags.’
